I actually finally found a version of Hart's PC song online (live
version, not the single, which I haven't heard in some years), so I'll
post that here soon, like later on tonight when I return...
I meant to comment on this, that 45 is near impossible to find. The
copy I have came from one of the local thrift stores in Columbus, GA
back in the mid to late 80's. Never had the single when it was out
Remember the old (& missed since it now is gone) Flip Side Records at
Traffic Circle on Victory Drive? That's where I found my copy, in the
massive singles collection they kept for many years after hardly
anyone could have possibly had an interest in them.
being as I was still very young then but made sure I sought it out
once I got older. I remember very clearly WPNX 1460 AM playing that
record. Not sure if the other country station at the time WHYD 1270 AM
ever played it or not. Talk about a radio market that has changed in
the last 35 years and I can't say it's for the better.
Pretty dismal, except Bear Obrian is hosting local country & folk
artists on his morning show here.

Nice knowing Bear O'Brian is still on the air in that market. Used to
listen to him on WCGQ in the 1980's back when they were still worth
listening too. Of all the stations to have ever been in the Columbus
GA market I miss WFDR(R+B Manchester now WVFJ or was), WWRH(AC now
WFXE) and WVOC(AC now Rock 103 WNKS I think is the callsign)

got to thinking about rock 103... WVRK is the callsign now... WNKS was
the call they used as a top 40 station from about 1984 until October
of 1989 when they switched to a 'classic rock' format

Flipside was one of the record stores to go to for 45's. Ron and Dot
who owned the place had pretty much anything you wanted and many times
it was the original pressing of the single. It was sometime in the
very late 90's or early 2000 that Dot sold off the record collection
to a dealer. Not sure when but at some point Flipside relocated to
broadway and shortly thereafter became part of a used bookstore that
is or used to be on the same side of broadway that the Bradley Theater
is on.

A couple of other record stores I used to haunt were The Music Shack
which was located beside Piggly Wiggly on Brown Avenue and Benning
Plaza Music Center which was on Cusseta Road. Both long since gone.
There used to be a good record store in West Point but can't recall
the name of it now and would not be surprised if it too hasn't closed
up shop....

Over the years I bought plenty of records from Turtles, OZ Records and
Tapes, Camelot and Record Bar later Tracks. Even bought a few from
Sound Shop in the late Columbus Square a few times. Woolworth's and
Gaylords were a couple other places I'd buy singles and ever now and
then Howard's but not too often.
