If there are any oldtimers left who check in here, you'll remember a
frequent poster named Patsi Bale Cox. There is an unconfirmed report
from a friend that Patsi has died. Following is a brief bio: A former
magazine editor, Patsi Bale Cox collaborated on Nickel Dreams, the
autobiography of Tanya Tucker, and The View from Nashville with Ralph
Emery,Still Woman Enough: A Memoir of and with Loretta Lynn, Coming
Home to Myself with Wynonna Judd, The Garth Factor: The Career Behind
Country's Big Boom, among other publications. She serves on the Grammy
nominating committee in the liner note category.

I think it's safe to say that everyone who ever knew her will miss
her.

The condolences and memories are filling up her facebook profile.

How can you miss someone who hasn't been around for a long time?
Same goes for you by the way. Tanya Tucker said Patsi misquoted her
in her autobio so I doubt Tanya will miss her any (or you either for
that mattter). Dangerous huh? You're about as dangerous as a one
legged doberman pincher. Why don't just grow up and get a clue!

The fact that ANYONE misses someone should be enough. Growing up and
getting a clue may depend on which side of the keyboard YOU are on!

I'm shocked and saddened to hear about her passing. I always wondered
why she completely disappeared from the groups. I enjoyed all the back
and forth bantering immensely when these groups were popular years
ago, but what struck me about Patsi unlike almost EVERYONE else who
posted in here regularly, was her sense of decency. I don't think it's
a coincidence that after she left, the popularity of the NG started to
decline.

Apparently some of you know her or knew her and IF anyone knows any of
her family PLEASE convey from me my heartfelt symapthy and strength in
this difficult time. I've missed her contributions in the NG for years
and again I'm very sorry to hear about her passing. A VERY sad day for
rec.music.country.western and everyone who had the pleasure of her
contributions.
