Well, I know I'll get flamed like heck for posting this but I'm
going to ask anyway.
How many male country singers wear earrings?
To me the type of person singing a song has as much meaning as
the words in the song. I'm from the old school and boys just don't wear
earrings. Also boys don't have long hair either.

And I suppose that blacks shouldn't be allowed in white peoples' restaurants.
And I suppose that Jews are all money-grubbing scumbags.
What other "old school" prejudices do you have?

Just in jest, I remember a friend of mine saying "Men shouldn't wear
earrings and women shouldn't wear beards!" Actually , though, Hal,
I just think that the original poster was just talking about personal
preference in looks; ie men should look like men and women should look
like women. Tying this thread in with discrimination against various
groups of people probably isn't really that valid!

Why _isn't_ it valid? The original poster stated that she
wouldn't spend money on music made by a man who wore an earring.
She isn't concerned about how that person looks - it that
were the case, she just wouldn't look at the picture. Instead
the original poster is devalueing the entertainer's product
because the entertainer wears an earring. Sounds like pretty
basic discrimination to me.
Original poster: don't flame me privately for this. Like we've
both said "It's my/your opinion and we're entitled to state it."

Look people, I'm the original poster and I'm not a she!
Call it discrimination if you like. At least I got the guts to stand up
for something that I feel is wrong. I disagree with men wearing
earrings, and therefore I don't think I should support them. Were you
all brought up in a Hard Rock Cafe where the theme is 'Love All, Serve
All'?
All I asked was which male country singers wore earrings. Only 1 person
has sent an answer, although I received several statements of support.
